Discover the Arboretum Through Your Senses!
–
October 3, 2026
Naturalist Maggie Redfern, Executive Director of the Connecticut College Arboretum, leads the way on this ‘multi-sensational’ approach to learning about the natural environment through the senses each of us has available, including touch and smell. From fragrant plants and rustling leaves to birdsong and the feel of different trees and plants, this unique outing offers a chance to connect with nature, enjoy the outdoors, and discover something new around every corner. Come ready to explore, listen, touch, and enjoy!
This free event is co-sponsored by the Center of the Blind and Avalonia Land Conservancy.
Most of the tour will take place on level paths of either a hard-packed surface or a combination of dirt and cut grass. A boardwalk through a bog will offer an up-close experience of a wetland. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore an enchanting oasis in southeast Connecticut.
Spots are limited, so RSVP soon. Click the RSVP button below or call the Center. Let us know if you need transportation.
