This month we welcome the CT Audubon Society for the beginning of an exciting birding series that continues into the fall with a special field trip to test out our new “ear birding” skills.
Birding by ear is more than identifying birds by sound, it's about immersing yourself in nature and tuning in to the rich symphony around you. This skill lets birders discover species that often remain hidden from sight, simply by recognizing their unique songs.
It’s an especially meaningful and accessible way for individuals who are blind or have low vision to enjoy birdwatching. Free smartphone apps are available to help identify bird calls, making this experience even more engaging.
Lunch is provided.
Kindly RSVP by Friday, August 15. Click the RSVP button below or call the Center. Let us know if you need transportation.
