Wildly Successful: Smart Glasses Group
Fourteen participants met at the Center, with seven more joining via Zoom, to kick off the first Smart Glasses User Group. At the start each attendee introduced themselves and spoke on their experience with smart glasses or their interest in them. Many of the initial comments pertained to how helpful the glasses are to users, including the benefits of hands-free functionality, and the ability to do things that are not possible without the glasses.
Much of the session focused on a Q&A about key features, including reading text, taking photos, and making and receiving calls. Newer users appreciated learning about functions they hadn’t yet explored. Participants also discussed the importance of maintaining a strong Wi-Fi connection and noted potential issues when devices switch between weak Wi-Fi and cellular signals. Charging was emphasized as a key troubleshooting step, as low battery levels can cause connectivity problems.
Some asked if smaller practice group sessions were possible. We made plans to practice following next month’s meeting. As with all technology and resources, you are also encouraged to call or email the Center as need arises. The session was a big success, and most let us know that they planned to be back next month.
